We were thrilled when global mining giant Rio Tinto invited us to give physical form and life to their 150-year anniversary celebrations. As well as their sheer size and impressive longevity, Rio Tinto is also renowned for being one of the few original FTSE 100 companies to remain continuously on the index. This added to the prestigious nature of the event, so we made sure to pull out all the stops. 

To make it unforgettable, our team created two engagement-focused showpiece displays to support a series of celebratory events at their London headquarters, and AGM, held at the QEII Centre.

The Copper Wall was conceived as a permanent yet updatable office display, featuring a solid copper slab that was extracted at the company’s Oyu Tolgoi mine in Mongolia. A water jet cutting process was used to form a RT150 branded plaque from the slab, adding to the monumental atmosphere. Meanwhile, The Stone Monolith took pride of place in the lobby of Rio Tinto’s London headquarters.

The juxtaposed lightbox graphics and large LED screens showcased Rio Tinto’s timeline, with a video encapsulating their historic past, proud present, and ambitious plans for the future.
